This layer displays the religious diversity index in each county using data from the Association of Religious Data Archives (ARDA). Adherents for each congregation were summarized according to broader categories. Categories used to calculate the index include Evangelical Protestant, Mainline Protestant, Historically Black Protestant, Judaism, Orthodox, Latter Day Saints, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, Jehova’s Witness, and Muslim.
