Payment System Update FAQs
SparkMap recently underwent a payment system upgrade. Beginning Monday July 17, all subscribers must reset their account password on the login page. FAQs regarding the password change are addressed toward the bottom of this page. If you have additional questions, please contact us.
SparkMap is a product of the Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems at University of Missouri Extension. The University of Missouri is switching payment management systems which has prompted us to upgrade ours and to further increase security.
Your SparkMap Subscription, account email address, and saved content will not change. You will primarily see changes in your account login and subscription renewal processes.
The first time you log in to SparkMap after the payment system upgrade, you will see a new login page. On this login page, you will need to select the “Get a new password” link and set a new password. Requirements for new passwords are addressed in the FAQs below.
Additionally, if you have an existing subscription (as of Sunday 7/16!), your SparkMap subscription will not automatically renew on your next renewal date. We will be sure to reach out to you directly to remind you to manually renew your subscription using our new payment system. To ensure there are no interruptions to service, you will need to manually purchase a new subscription before your current subscription expires.
You will now purchase, manage, and log in to your subscription all from one site: sparkmap.org. Additionally, should your organization require a fiscal officer or another individual to purchase a subscription on your behalf, they will be able to transfer and manage access to the subscription in their SparkMap Dashboard.
SparkMap is a product of the Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems (CARES) at the University of Missouri. Therefore, some emails regarding your account may come from our parent company. However, we assure you these are regarding your SparkMap Subscription and can be trusted.
To reset your password, you can click the “Get a New Password” hyperlink, or follow this link.
Yes, your new password should be at least 12 characters; including at least 1 uppercase letter, 1 lowercase letter, and 1 number.
As part of this update, we are enhancing our system security beyond current industry standards. Additionally, we’re simplifying the subscription purchase and management experience to be all on one site.
