The U.S. Postal Service provided information quarterly to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on addresses identified as vacant in the previous quarter. Residential and business vacancy rates for the report area in the fourth quarter of 2024 are reported.
For this reporting period, a total of sum(1) residential addresses were identified as vacant in the report area, a vacancy rate of sum(2), and sum(4) business addresses were also reported as vacant, a rate of sum(5).

Methodology

The United States Postal Service (USPS) supplies data to HUD on addresses that have been either identified as “vacant” or “No-Stat” for the previous reporting period, and HUD allows this data to be explored by researchers and practitioners for use in tracking neighborhood change.
